I wonder about this a lot? what is the proper response to abuse? Is it to pray & walk away/don’t engage?
Numbers 25:1-8
1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
2 And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.
3 And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel.
4 And the Lord said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the Lord against the sun, that the fierce anger of the Lord may be turned away from Israel.
5 And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor.
6 And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
7 And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;
8 And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.
A javelin thrust through Bill Gates' side, assuming he was indeed involved in child sacrifice, rape, and murder with Epstein and his associates, is Biblical.
thanks😇 that’s helpful. especially being from the Midwest where being ‘nice’ is a requirement. so the bullies get by, no one wants to offend them & certainly can’t reason with them. and confrontation is not my favorite thing to do. I’ve been praying a lot more, even considering that some are demonic/not able change, so trying to ignore.
In the above Bible passage, we see Moses ordered the government to put down the criminals who were engaged in child sacrifice and ritual sexual practices (this is how Baalpeor was worshipped).
In spite of their heads sitting on sticks for all the people to see, a man was brazen enough to take a woman who engaged in the same practices into his tent in full sight of everyone.
A son of a priest took matters into his own hands immediately. He didn't wait for the government to take action in this case. Consider this a citizen's arrest.
that’s helpful, thanks for summarizing. I tend to skip over the OT/have to work on that. also need to speak up more in real life, let people know that their drama isn’t welcome, it’s so unnecessary.
