I know the Bladerunners have been effective, and they've been removing a lot of camera's, but if the London Mayor decides to implement additional measures to prevent their removal I have another method in mind.
Sandpaper/destroy the lenses only, and also spot weld the things in place. That not only renders them useless, but also extremely labor intensive to replace.
you could probably spot weld with one of those phone re-chargers and a couple of cables with metal rods on the end - just don't cross the streams until you're ready :)
edit: I once spot welded a capacitor to a metal ruler once (1uF)

Second thoughts, welders are bulky and heavy, getting them to the target will be a pain and as for getting the welding gun itself up a pole?
There are hand held spot welders that would work.
