My point is if you're in a situation where Gates water is being passed out for free, it would be helpful to know how to sanitize your own water using fermentation. Then you can provide drinkable, and more importantly storable, water (with a little alcohol mixed in) from natural sources, for you and your family. You would not need to accept Gates water.
