Another factor is that Paxton ordered an outside investigation into a case because he believed the Feds doctored some documents against a suspect. Much of the arguments against him said this act abused his office. Who would go around the FBI, after all?

That is a good idea. All based AGs should now go around the FBI and double check their work with private investigations...until the FBI proves worthy of trust again.
