Yep. Yet planting seeds is very important too.
Instinct is a strong thing though. Last night I was working at a place and just me another guy were in this building inside a crime area of the city.
Somehow the alarm was triggered and it dispatch the police.
I heard some people outside and thought it was people dumping garbage in the dumpster—because that is what I seen earlier in the night.
Told the other guy and he remembered getting a call about police were triggered for a dispatch.
I am a very calm person but I opened one the door that lead to the ally and the police officer started reaching for his side arm—I smiled at him and hello. I gave him a choice. I knew I was in the bad side of this but what had to be done, had to be done.
His instinct kicked but just as my instinct from lots of hairy encounters was calm. Thankfully he was not a trigger happy officer. He did not detain me nor ask much. 4 of them were there.
Before I opened the door I already knew what would happen. Instincts are conspiracy theories and to prove them we have to be calm and acceptable of the consequences of what is right in front of you.
The other option was to stay inside and make them speculate and become agitated of them knowing people are in the building. That instinct told me bad things are more possible.
