Tesla was NEVER meant to be an American Volkswagen (people's car)

It was always a luxury, a virtue signal, and a fast car. Also an experiment on new manufacturing techs, self drive, AI, etc.

Evs have never been necessary, speaking of VW in Europe they have 3cyl subcompacts that get 80mpg on regular gas. Only reason we do not have them is American drivers are too stupid and people in them would get killed by roadragers in their huge trucks and drunks in Mustangs
