This is what has baffled me for decades.
Maybe I am missing some internal wiring.
Why do we care if their brains melt down?
For instance they do not care if they think the opposite. This is from the bottom to the top.
Sure we still have many families pulling it together. For instance for my family. I could care less with one of my brothers and for my other brother he has lied about things but he will recover. The stress for those at the age of retirement and spent their lives on their 401k—have a hard time if someone or something is telling them it could be down graded. I get that part.
The part I do not get is the ones who are and have been militant towards their families/co workers… they demanded things that required submission to a false god essentially. They did not have any compassion or even blink.
Why should we care about those who have done this? My sane brother will still talk to the other brother, but I will not. I still love him. However he needs to repent all by himself. If he cannot that is his problem. If his head explodes / so be it.
I will not rub it in his face but I will not need to. If they cannot have remorse or compassion — they are their own reason why and in some regard in the USA, it has to be this way. We are all individuals in this USA. Each of us has to make a decision. They factually hate us because of what they did, not what we did. Very sad but THEY did it. ;)
