How I love the 14th chapter of John...memorized the first 7 verses which has ministered often to my spirit...the entire book actually is a tremendous story of love...
We all need the peace that passes understanding and this reminded me of the classic hymn Peace Wonderful Peace...
Well said. Jesus even told us to expect tribulation in this world. Choosing to follow Christ puts us at enmity with the unbelieving world, even as we are reconciled to God. During this conflict we can be content knowing the ultimate victory is already won.
I try not to play “favorites” with the books of the Bible but the Gospel of John has a special place in my heart.
It is the first book I read and it was back when I was still an atheist that was just really into “mythology”. I could feel it even back then.

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
God bless you and yours.
Thank you Jesus!

Don't want to be a downer, but the word peace in scripture does not always equate to tranquility.
In a time of war, two factions that agree to fight together against their enemies are at peace with each other.
Therefore, the term peace can mean that the Lord and we are in the Good Fight together to take down the enemy.
