Just fyi, You cant kick a guy when he’s on the ground. Its against the rules. But, the sport finds its root in the kumate from Japan. Its supposed to be a street fight with rules and regulations. Boxing is great, but you cant help but wonder “who would win if these guys could kick or wrestle or use martial arts?” UFC allows the use of all fighting skills to see who will emerge victorious. It takes the chess match of boxing to a whole nother level.
Yes in a bar fight between two boxers no one would try to pull anyone down or take someone to the ground and if either got knocked down the other would wait 10 seconds for them to get up before hitting them again. Haha come on. But you are right about the lack of gloves which is why the gloves in the ufc are 4oz.

I would think boxers would fight a street battle the same way they do in the ring; only difference is they wouldn't have the luxury of padded gloves.
