Trump has recently mentioned that the Democrats all need to resign. He recently just said the same of the Republicans.

What would be the best way for the military to take over?

Have everyone in both parties resign.

The MAGA folks could resign and say we will not come back until a new government is formed. Everyone else would need to lawyer up.
