I think he meant Dan is the guy that sends all the PR stuff (pics, videos, etc) to social media. That was his job before that other dude that had a breakdown a few years ago (can't recall his name) took it over - then lost it after his incident(s).

Dan took up the cause again after that.

Or it could be plausible deniability.
