I guess the Military never gave pilots a special number to call when they eject over neighborhoods. Couldn’t he have called his base to talk to someone instead of a ditzy 911 “girl”?
It is consistent with what I have observed. Many are under 25 and will change careers in a few years, the others are 20 year veterans that are crusty, calloused, with a dark and dry sense of humor.
But I agree, how does someone not know about ejection seats.
Washed Up????? There is going to be a VERY LONG DEBRIEF for this pilot and the instrumentation AND BLACK BOX are going to play a VERY IMPORTANT role in whether he stays in Air Force or is EJECTED!!!!!!!
My experience in the military is that a pilot that crashes a plane. It's the end of their career as a pilot. There's only one person that bucked that system and he has No-Name.
He lost a Jet full of classified information. Priority One would be have boots on the ground looking for it. Before getting an ass reaming from your Superior Officers.
That and I’m sure he wanted to put off that Discussion with his superiors.
IDK, seems right to me. I compare it to myself when was a kid, big horse kicked at my pony and busted my leg, I couldn't hold on and so slipped, pushed myself off as the pony kept barreling down the driveway and into a main street. When family rushed down to me, my only thought was that I voiced was, "Hurry catch Star!" knowing what she was heading into. My concern was the pony first, my injuries were not even a consideration to me. I imagine a plane in the same situation and I as the pilot, same gut reaction but, with much bigger consequences to where that plane may crash at. As far as who he called he stated that he could not see his body so probably why he had the homeowner dial 911 instead of giving the civilian a top clearance, military contact number. IDK, just my initial thoughts on the matter.
Sounded like a comedy skit to me........

This 911 operator is seriously weird or is that just me? Lol.

This pilot's career is washed up.

Seems like he should have a "kit" with a radio and beacon, not just "hitch" a ride back to base.
That makes sense.
