Are you suggesting that if we had gold backed currency there would be no income tax? Not sure I agree with that.

We didn't have income tax until 1913. And the gold standard was ended not long after that.

But we aren't going back to gold anyways. The post-storm economy will be based on bitcoin, which is physically impossible to tax, provided it is stored properly.
