Fucking sad. He was one of my favorites that last time the Pirates had a formidable team back in 1992. That was also the last year they had Barry Bonds.
Wakefield came up from out of nowhere and hand an INCREDIBLE rookie season and NLCS (though Dave Justice had him figured out ... and fuck you Dave Justice if you read this shit ;-) ... and fuck you Braves fans (though it is so hard to say that with anger ... those early 1990s Braves teams were something else ... but fuck you anyway :-) ... and if Jeff Blauser and Mark Lemke read this ... fuck both of you ... to John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, and Steve Avery, fuck you!, and Francisco Cabrera, I am STILL GOING TO FUCKING THERAPY OVER THAT HIT YOU BASTARD (and, no, I am not Stan Belinda ... though it wouldn't shock me if he at least lurked here :-) ).
Jim Leyland got so sick of the nuances of the knuckleball that he basically just told him to throw the fucking thing over the plate however he's been doing it :-) Leyland's pitching coach (Ray Miller) did a bang up job with him his rookie season. Still, I think Tim Wakefield, despite being 8-1 with a mid 2 ERA during his first callup and being almost lights out in the 1992 NLCS , caused Jim Leyland to smoke about 600 more cases of cigarettes that season ... he just hated that style of pitching given it being so erratic :-) .
The Pirates gave up on him way too quickly obviously (plus they were literally in dire financial straits back in the mid 1990s, not the bullshit "Bob Nutting" dire straits where he pockets $40M in cash each year from the Pirates while taxpayers pay millions in interest and taxes on that fucking shithole ball park ... but I digress :-) ). I think Wakefield went to Boston in 1995 or 96 and never looked back ... he had an awesome career there, won two World Series I think ... plus just seemed like a down to Earth guy. He will be sorely missed :-(. Great memories of a time when shit like baseball was fun and not political propaganda bullshit for the masses (for the most part ... they've been setting this shit up for years).
BTW, I know the Pirates had a little rebound from 2011-2015, but that cheap prick owner failed to buy a couple of pieces that would have made the 2013-2015 teams formidable World Series threats. He didn't even need to spend fucking Yankee or Dodger money ... I'm talking a measly $20M or so more each of those seasons (and he wouldn't have exceeded $120M in any case except for 2015 ... fucking incredible how MLB lets these taxpaying thieving fucks get away with their sportsball welfare stadium scams). I'm rambling now though. I will shut the fuck up ... and, again, fuck you Braves fans :-) .
Yep. Well aware of the brainwashing, and know its been going on for a while now. I even said "... when shit like baseball was fun and not political propaganda bullshit for the masses." in my post (I do ramble and can't write for shit, so I get it if people miss anything I say :-) ).
The gameshow/Wakefield/baseball related stuff I was talking about all happened 30+ years ago :-) ... I may not give a fuck about any of that shit anymore, but I have MANY good memories of games, friends, auditory shitposting in the stands (i.e. heckling), etc ... they may have taken a game I love from me, but they aren't getting the memories ... and you faggots are just going to have to put up with my fucking "remember when" posts if I see the name of a baseball player I liked back in the day pop up here :-P :-).
Seriously, I went from attending 40 games/year easily (and I drank a LOT at Pirate games ... for the pain ;-) ) and never missing a game on the radio to recognizing maybe 3 or 4 names on the Pirate's current roster. I quit MLB long before any of their mandatory faggot worshiping or COVID bullshit mainly due to FINALLY seeing how they rape the public by demanding tax dollars for their privately owned gameshow studios.
Trust me fren, I know what we are up against, and thank you for pointing it out. I just hope we can fucking get ourselves back to a time where I could enjoy that shit again. That will have meant that we won (though I can't see myself ever becoming that big of a fan again ... it is SO FUCKING HARD to unsee something once you've seen it for real).
Oh, your user name ... don't tell me The Beatles weren't part of the brainwashing plan ... :-) ... I'm pretty sure that's half if not all of the reason why John Lennon is dead. That doesn't make any memories you have associated with Ringo dogshit (though wasn't he a kind-of last minute replacement ... like he replaced someone since they weren't "star" caliber talent or something ... I forget).

Kek! Yeah... I just can't watch it anymore but, let's go bucs!
You do realize that Pro Sports is part of the brain washing???
