Jamaal Bowman, the representative who pulled fire alarm to interrupt interim budget vote, claiming he thought it would 'open a door'.

Democratic Representative Jamaal Bowman of New York pulled a fire alarm in a Capitol office building on September 30, 2023, ahead of a crucial, last-minute House vote that ultimately averted a government shutdown. Bowman's office confirmed that he was "rushing to make" the vote and "came to a door that is usually open for votes but today would not open." Multiple sources reported that Bowman was caught on camera pulling the Cannon fire alarm ahead of a motion to adjourn vote as Dems tried to delay the CR vote.
