Agreed, it feels totally scripted and the Dems seem to have gotten played. They agree to a 45 day CR with no Ukraine funding because they thought they had a side deal.

But, the guy they thought they had a deal with smiled and exited stage right. Then you have Gaetz giving a scripted Jordan nomination speech while McCarthy laughs and smiles.
