I agree with you, except Scaramucci was a low level chess piece. Trump is the King piece, you're not going to put him in a temp role plus there are the optics of Trump getting "revenge" on those that pursued him.

It's like to be someone else, someone they didn't see coming. Trump SOTH narrative has been a distraction for the DS. it's highly unlikely it'll be him the WH end up going with.
