I am watching live camera view of the Gaza skyline, night-time there... and there are plenty of lights on. Looks peaceful to me.

Keep in mind that WATER pumps and water treatment process requires electricity. Sewage pumps and sewer treatment process requires electricity too. Refrigeration requires electricity. Hospitals require electricity.
Cutoff from electricity may sound like an Inconvenience, but after 2 to 3 days, it starts having REAL serious consequences to a crowded area of 6 square miles that has 2 Million people.
Primary facilities all have back up generators with several day's supply of fuel. If outages persist, they have a refueling plan.
Israel has been blockading the gaza strip, deciding what goes in or out for years now. A few years back.. building materials wernt even being allowed to enter the strip.
Good luck getting anything in there now.
