We can crack jokes about anything, at anytime, and we should. People need to quit taking themselves too seriously and learn to laugh once in a while, like they did back in the '70s and earlier. There's way too many self-important, overly sensitive assholes these days.
Comedy is like an emotional release valve on political conflict and division. If any group is turned into a sacred cow that cannot be equally mocked, it’s bad for THEM. Imagine a group of ten friends all laughing and taking the piss, but one is super sensitive and can never be mocked. He will be naturally isolated and disliked because of his special sensitive boy status. He will not be as good a friend. For men especially, taking the piss is how we bond and build trust.
