Given that Hamas is a creation of the Mossad and their purpose is in line with that of the state of Israel, (ie prevent Palestine from ever getting their feet under them by continually undermining legitimate local government), I don't think taking down Hamas would rank highly on the DS wish list.

Seems to me Hamas is a bit of a puppet boogeyman, held up at arm's length by the Mossad, similar to Al-Queda and ISIS and various other terror groups.

SO... IF that is actually the case, that leaves the question of what Israel/DS is attempting to accomplish with this.

Land grab? There's an oil deal in play but I don't think it's big enough to warrant this kind of behaviour. And that would serve Israel nicely but does the greater deep state really care about that?

Or is it something bigger? Last ditch attempt at WW3 now that Ukraine has failed?
