The recruitment levels are so bad that they are now making a concerted effort to reach out to immigrants by dangling American citizenship. Just like with Viet Nam, the government enticed foreigners, some illegal, the promise of citizenship to serve in a foreign war. As far as I know, during a draft, a foreign citizen cannot be forced into foreign combat if they refuse - so, you make them an American citizen. Mexicans were recruited and shipped off to Viet Nam to die and be injured for a war they knew nothing about.
We don't have a draft, at the moment, but I have no doubt that this latest recruitment effort is also going to somehow include illegals along with legal residents. Is this possibly one of the reasons so many have been allowed in? Have Americans been so damaged from the vax and are so risk adverse that the government will plug the holes with foreigners?
I agree one hundred percent. They have no other choice at this point than to dangle a carrot in front of those that have no clue - like many of us were back before we woke up.
The push to recruit is being targeted at legal immigrants with legal residency. However, along with the legals I am sure some illegals will be caught up as well. They have done it before.
There was a push through Ft Bliss in El Paso TX. They actually went to Mexico to recruit in Juarez. I know a few that told me about the recruiting back in the day. The draft was in effect at the time and they needed more canon fodder. I also knew some resident aliens that refused the citizenship offer knowing they would remain stateside. They said the people that were recruited from Mexico were poor dumb bastards that didn't realize what they were agreeing to. It was disgusting. I also had a buddy that took service in the Marine Corps rather than go to jail. They didn't really care how they got them as long as they were breathing.

I think a lot of people can agree: They can draft Americans over their own dead bodies.
Americans won't put up with a draft at this point.
There are no righteous wars. Too many holes are poked through their agendas in the era of the internet and citizen journalism.
A draft would be considered a declaration of open war against the citizenry, in my opinion. It would be illogical to treat it otherwise.

That disgusting…. They’re not immigrants they are illegals.

Just like the late stage Roman Empire. They recruited foreigners into the army towards the end too.
Good point. I hadn't gone that far back, but it is a common MO of a failing empire.
I don’t remember that and I was in the Navy then. People did go in to avoid jail time but not to get citizenship. At least I never saw any.
