California Gov. Gavin Newsom opened a week-long trip to China on Monday with an assurance that his state will always be a partner on climate issues no matter how the U.S. presidential election turns out next year.

I'll be watching California's wildfire risk when they ban gas powered lawnmowers and weed eaters starting in 2024.

When electric lawnmowers just won't do the job, and manual mowing isn't an option... people will opt for letting the grass and weeds grow tall. Likely result will be twice the dry brush as in previous years.

Remember what happened in Maui?
