The nation's largest drugstore chains, Rite Aid, CVS and Walgreens, will shutter more than 1,500 stores, leaving millions of Americans without access to healthcare in 'pharmacy deserts.' Rite Aid said it will close 150 of its 2,100 US locations after they filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this month. The pharmacy chain has been unable to settle hundreds of lawsuits that accused them of overprescribing opioids and has struggled to keep up with competitors.A slew of drugstore chains slashing their locations has left millions of people living in areas where it's difficult to obtain medication, areas known as 'pharmacy deserts,'
Without healthcare? Meh. Without easy access to poison is more like it. Most "healthcare" in America is actually pharmaceutical companies trying to kill you or turn you into a permanent repeat customer.
Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid mostly just sell drugs and sugar-packed snacks.
Good riddance.
Just like food deserts. Fuck off, not our problem. Yall should have raised you kids not to be fucking degenerate thieves. Don't blame the corporations for your food and pharmaceutical deserts. Blame yourself, your kids, and your city leaders for not letting law enforcement do their job. The only deserts these stores have made is a theft deserts. No stores to rob, no robbing. Simple. Order Amazon if they allow their trucks into your shithole neighborhood. I'm guessing they would rob those too.
What's a pharmacy with a silent P?
It's like a Shell gas station when the S falls off the sign.
Oh god yes. I got a $1 off a gallon from Shell via the Advance Auto Reward program.
My wife and I fight who use it. "I'm not using it. You use it." "no, you!" "It's a dollar off, use it!" "I'm not going over there!"
Wait till the COVD lawsuits come in.
My experience with Rite-Aid, they kept screwing up my Rxs. I was shorted pills, had generics mixed in with brand named.
When I went to a privately owned drug store a customer told me he had cut pills in his Rx bottle which means someone who had to take 1/2 a pill the Rx was returned or the pharmacist did that on his own, either case thats illegal.
I would not buy a bar of soap at Rite-Aid.
These stores are not health care. Abortion is not heath care. Health care starts with real food, exercise, and sunshine. Words Matter
Source? I’m not buying this. That would be obvious collusion.
It really hurts the elderly- without nearby food/Rx dispensers, they have to travel further-- and most can't- Seems like a easy passive way to allow the elderly to die off...just saying, never let a fucked up situation go to waste...
A pharmacy is not healthcare. Others will come and start new pharmacies. Plus, drugs are available on line.
Don't forget they happily delivered millions of kill shots.
