.223 is civy
5.56 is american / nato
i believe you mean 7.62x39 and not 7.92mm?
There's also 7.62x54r which is usuall mosin nagant or even dragunov (I think?)
give me a fucking break. you said wounds were measured by a caliber (lol), not diameter. get your fucking shit straight ruhtard..
if you would have said... I wonder if the wounds were .223 <deleted> or 7.92mm DIAMETER, i wouldnt' have called you out.
Also, .223 and 7.62 are two different forms of measurement. You really think the coroner or whoever examines the body is gonna go "Ope! I better get out my other measuring device, this one looks like it came from america, and not from over here, where all of our measurements are in tens".
lol. nice back track.
Oh, and why would a .223 create a .223 hole and a 7.62 create a 7.92 hole? Your maffs don't add up mister smart guy.
U.S. calibers are in imperial units ( decimal inches) 7.62 is thirty caliber.. but the Iranians have Soviet or Chinese made AKs thus made to 7.92 mm specification. (look at the base of the bullet on SAAMI.)
You missed the point in your excitement to be perceived as witty.
The point of the (rhetorical) question (for mouth breathing videogamers like yourself) is, of course, if the wounds are .223 the source weapons likely came from. those left behind in Afghanistan.
Perhaps I was expecting too much of you. In the future I will try to present things to you in a simpler manner.
ok. you're going to have to expand on this. I googled 7.92 saami in case i really am completely off base, and i can not find an AK widely produced in Russia or Chinese specs of 7.92. What i am finding though, is people rechambering 7.62 barrels in 7.92x33 Kurz.
I have a feeling we both should shut up, cause we're both wrong while both kind of right.
i understand what your intent by your message was, i was pointing out that the inconsistincies in your post. We should agree to disagree. I didn't miss any point, but in the age of information warfare you need to be as correct as possible.
Yea, i made little kid ballfisted comments. I didn't have my coffee yet. But please do yourself a favor and use correct terminoology when talking about bullet holes and how theyre described.
I've personally built more guns than they have available in your typical videogame. Don't go there.

556 is the cartridge not the projectile. It still makes a .223 hole. Likewise 7.62x39 makes a 7.92mm hole.
