Heck, even the really young guys, the ones who traditionally have gone to war, are either overweight or super skinny soyboys. We literally can't go to war. 6 weeks of boot camp wouldn't be nearly enough.
Even 9 weeks wouldn't cut it. It would easily take a year for a whole swath of the population. But did they draft guys that old during Vietnam? I thought it was young guys - late teens, maybe early twenties?

During Vietnam, last time there was a draft, bootcamp was 9 weeks. When you take anyone you get what you get.
