He makes a good point. But men in their 30s and 40s? How many of them are even in shape enough to fight? About 2%? We don't have men who are fighting fit in that age category these days. Heck, even the really young guys, the ones who traditionally have gone to war, are either overweight or super skinny soyboys. We literally can't go to war. 6 weeks of boot camp wouldn't be nearly enough.
Even 9 weeks wouldn't cut it. It would easily take a year for a whole swath of the population. But did they draft guys that old during Vietnam? I thought it was young guys - late teens, maybe early twenties?
I think the draft was 18-24, I was 19 so didn’t pay attention to the upper number. Agreed about the 9 weeks, just setting the record straight. They can change the length of bootcamp to anything they want or need. Might be just what many of the younger people need. If they fix the woke crap.

During Vietnam, last time there was a draft, bootcamp was 9 weeks. When you take anyone you get what you get.

Thanks. And yeah, the woke thing is another huge reason the guys who might actually be able to fight, won't.
