maybe but, it's better than what's available in education currently. It's hard to fix the higher education system because it's so infiltrated like you say so, better to start from scratch. Plus, this education is available to all. That's not the way education works currently
"Maybe" nothing. This is how every single one of our corrupt education systems has begun. going back to the beginning of these systems in Prussia in the early 1700s. The government has no place in education, period. Also, there is no such thing as "free" education. NOTHING is free. Everything has a cost.
In this case they are talking about taxing the private donations given to our current system. That would be taxing the Rockefeller created 501(3)(c) monopoly that currently controls all knowledge (all Foundations are really the same Foundation). That's great and all, but those systems need to be exposed for what they are. They need to be destroyed. What happens to that "tax revenue" when they are destroyed? Who pays for it then?
In addition, These Foundations are, by definition of Law, tax free, that's their whole schtick, so the laws would need to be substantially changed, which would invalidate the original incorporation of these institutions, which would destroy them. Again, that's great and all, but then who pays for the "free" education?
better to start from scratch
A "new" government run education system is not "starting from scratch," it is the exact same people doing the exact same thing in the exact same way. Expecting different results is... perhaps not too bright. The ONLY possible path to a better educational system is a Free Market education system. We've never had one. Let's try that instead of replacing Big Brother with the New Boss, same as the Old Boss.
All knowledge and information must be given equal footing. What is "truth" is unknown. Until humans are free to explore the truth, we will never be able to get closer to it. Any system that has a "curriculum" for a "credential" limits what is taught. The government can not be in charge of curriculums, period. Yet this espouses that as Bigly as all previous systems.
Our credential system (created by Rockefeller), which this espouses and even enforces, is a huge part of the problem. It limits our ability to see Reality. It puts thoughts in the box of the curriculum and credentials. It is 100% the opposite of the best path forward.
Only a free market of thoughts and ideas can work. This "solution" is exactly what we must reject. If we are pushed into it...
Quite frankly, it is "solutions" like this that make me fear The Plan.
