Yes, I have seen it. It is the result of a relatively new drug. The issue is that these people willingly seek it out and take it. It is mind boggling why anyone would do this to themselves. The street name is Tranq. It is a veterinary tranquilizer mixed with Fentanyl.
It’s the saddest thing I’ve ever seen! I’ve seen a lot in 40 yrs of nursing but this tops it all!
Thank you for dedicating 40 years of your life to helping and caring for others. My grandmother was a nurse, my aunt was a nurse and my father went to nursing school. His first foray into nursing was in a hospice. He didn't last a year. He quit being a nurse because it was too hard emotionally. He wasn't able to watch people die without it affecting him. That is a testament to all those that can persevere and do the job anyway, even with the emotional cost. I know the coping mechanisms that they had to adopt in order to keep doing the job. Thank you.
You’re so welcome, DextertheCat. I spent 20 years in labor & delivery so the abortion issue is very near & dear to my heart. Life is such a miracle & when you see that newborn babe take its first breath you realize you were holding yours just waiting for them to take their first. Truly from God. I’m thankful to your family members who also ‘served’, it’s not always the right profession for everyone. I give your father so much credit for his service to hospice. That’s one of the hardest places to work, next would be chemotherapy. I have a daughter that’s had cancer twice but is doing amazing, praise God. I quit my job in August 2020 after taking a voluntary layoff in April & turning 62 later in the summer. I just knew I didn’t buy into the Covid fear & needed to retire or get fired. Guess what. We were right all along!!!
