I am not aware of any psychotropic effects of marijuana. I will say that I am not expert and haven't smoked since high school. I know the stuff that it out now is for more potent, but I have been stupid high before and all I could do was lay on the floor. Hard to imagine natural unadulterated pot causing psychotropic effects
There has been a couple studies recently talking about long term use can certain individuals can increase schizophrenia and bipolar disorder symptoms. But it's mainly people with a predisposition of the mental illness in their family or use with other drugs as well
I know there is a correlation between mental illness and narcotics use, however I think it is still debated whether there is causation or a likelihood of self-medication. It may simply be a chicken before the egg argument. It is harder to be certain because there may be examples of both cases of one preceding the other. Either way, I think narcotic abuse is simply dumb.
