I believe Biden will be the first President to be impeached in the House and convicted in the Senate, but after his term is over. Like you said, he's better off staying where he is now. Democrats set the precedent in Jan 2021 for impeaching a president after he has left office, and I believe that precedent was set for a reason.
After his term is over, he cannot be impeached. That's not how the constitution works.
Trump was impeached for a second time BEFORE his term was over. He had not left office. That is why they could move to impeach him.
