Been eating this way for decades. I am old and still around by ignoring them. I eat a lot of read meat, Buffalo has more protein then beef and less cholesterol then chicken. Army buddy of mine his mother gave me the recipe for collards. Son't get a cholesterol check for at least 6 months after eating them . LOL. They are great straight out of the pot and get better each passing day.
You are absolutely correct. I have been on and off of statins and the only thing I found was that when on statins I was getting forgetful, off statins OK. So started doing research and found your brain is 'made of' cholesterol so using statins diminishes brain function, starves the brain. More research showed that once statins were really pushed, all of a sudden everyone is getting Alzheimers. I'd rather die of a heart attack.
My wife won't stop talking about bone broth.
But i was being silly, my point was brains are made of cholesterol and I've heard statins cause problems.
I ignored the butter fear porn, the egg fear porn. And I still cook my eggs in bacon grease for flavor.

I'm with you. Bacon grease is good for all kinds of frying. I used it to saute peppers and onions last weekend.
Also, don't believe the smears about MSG. It's fantastic.
We always buy uncured bacon the way God intended it to be. We still use lard in cooking and why the food tastes good.
