The technology relies on acoustic sensors mounted in public places to detect the sound of gunfire and help pinpoint its location for police. During a public hearing at city council chambers Monday night, council members also heard from those who asked them not to support the technology. The ACLU and other groups told the council it won't crime and violence and is an invasion of privacy.

Rising gun violence?? In full-on Lefty Seattle? How do these things happen? I heard that if you were on the right side of history, life would be Utopian and there would be no such thing as "gun violence".

All sarcasm of course. But who would have thought that if you promoted your area and values as a "safe space" that there would be criminals and low-lifes of all types ready to walk in and take advantage? And I'm not just talking about the government here.
