Embarrassment. That failure was due to communications, or 'failure of' between the USAF & USMC. Neither could talk to each other. Immediately afterwards, DoD comms methods were changed....
Soon a 'cowboy" Reagan elected iran freed the hostages
I thought it was because they hadn't accounted for sand being whipped up by the helicoptor blades, resulting in engine failure.
Carter gutted the military..our shit didn't work
it was, but the communication during the mission when all of the chaos started happening led to it's cancelation.
Sand was an issue, yes. Comms were non-existent. Becuz they couldn't talk to each other, they were rolling "blind" resulting in the collisions. It was a disaster becuz they had no idea where the other aircraft were, their directions, etc.
