Well. In all due respect. Jimmy did NOT get an envelope at GBHB's return to hell ceremony so, even though Carter may of been a stooge for the swamp, he wasn't all bad. One thing I would like to celebrate about her is that they both DID maintain their marriage. In these crazy times, that is rare among the sort of slime that lives in the limelight. That is one thing I think we can all appreciate about her. I bid her farewell, may she rest in peace.
We had gas lines, and only allowed to get gasoline on certain days depending on what your license plate ended in. Also they told us no Christmas lights as it was a drain on our power grid. They made us drive 55mph on the freeways to preserve gasoline. He gave away the Panama Canal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvV3nn_de2k
the gas lines and all that was under Nixon. same with the nationalized speed limit.
Not the gas lines in 1979.
I'm a quirky old-fart but President Carter is one of my all time favorite Presidents.
I am sure he made a great neighbor and great volunteer, and great guy at the coffee shop. But President? One of the worst as far as economics, military, working WITH congress to pass legislation, and power projection (which IS important in a world that only understands power, like, oh, the Iranian fanatics.)
Lucky for him he has been surpasses as worst of all time by Obama 1, Obama 2, and Obama 3, the shadow president we now have.
He even mis-pronounced "nuke-you-ler" after having served on a submarine.
Ditto. he certainly had his faults but I liked him too. I liked the fact that he did not get us in too many wars. He & Trump were the 2 most peaceful presidents in our lifetime..
The fact that he pushed back against IsraHell gave him cred with me. He even wrote a book about it.
