My take is that the AI isn't posting, but it is gameifying the future. By creating/prophesying the future based on human history, current trends, and future expectations, the AI was able to create a game plan for the Q team to go off of.
Remember: military tech is decades ahead of civilian commerical use. We had drones in the 60s, and I didn't really know about them until 2003 with the war. The military has 5G Humvees before we had 3G.
They probably had advanced AI, were able to create an outline plan, then by thend of the four years the AI technology jumped even more, and they were able to update their plan accordingly and go down one of the possible decision tree paths, hence the "Devolution ' theory.
I have been saying this for months. All I keep hearing about is ChatGPT and when they might create an AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) - there is a less than zero chance that if ChatGPT is just hitting the civilian market, that the Military hasn't had something similar for decades. At least two decades, probably longer.
Here's something else I've been pondering - we all know AI needs data to work and learn. CIA LifeLog\Facebook project? NSA\Patriot Act after 9/11? Collection of all texts, emails, phone calls? if you had a massively powerful AI and you wanted to feed it data to train it and learn, can you think of a bigger data stream? Was that one of the side goals of introducing the Patriot Act?
Did you ever see the movie Eagle Eye? It was analyzing data, movements and variables in realtime and formulating a path to achieve its goal. Able to plan many, many moves ahead. Sound familiar? Was this entire plan mapped out by an incredibly powerful AI that our Military has had access to for decades?
