Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Would love some input from you guys about sleep aids.
I've been having migraines and muscle pain. I tough out those and the other symptoms of my chronic illness. But not being able to sleep until pass out exhaustion because of those things is a problem. The constantly shifting schedule isn't good for seeing others or for personal health...
I want to avoid asking a doctor for sleep aids, I know what medications are on offer and they seem particularly unsavory... I've tried melatonin, it doesn't help with this... Would like suggestions for what to research or try if you guys have any.
Will probably be trying this too!
Ashwaghanda and valerian for light herbs.
I use red borneo kratom to sleep because it is a powerful painkiller and mild sedative. I like this company's price and quality buy-kratom.us/
If it is the stress keeping you awake then valerian and ashwaghanda will be a potent relaxing herb combination. If the pain is the thing keeping you awake, then kratom will give you the best sleep you've had in a while, just be careful because in the longterm the kratom can be habit forming.
Magnesium, full dose and 3 in 1 (l-threonate, bisglycinate and malate) is what I use before bed. Works well for the migraines and muscle pain. Wonderful sleep aid.
I also use 5-HTP situationally, l-serine (good for fibromyalgia too), and the occasional CBD gummie.
Good luck fren, sleep is central to good health!
Whatever Covid is or isn't, mine started with insomnia. And I had some very sharp headaches as well which were never normal for me. I nebulized hydrogen peroxide. It's kind of a pain to get off your butt and make the mixture and sit down and breathe it in for 10 minutes, but it made a huge difference for me--- first good sleep I had had in months. I hope it helps.

Good luck.
