I was in 6th grade Parochial School when President Kennedy died. Everyone was shocked by his death. He was a beloved president regardless of party. We kneeled down and were praying the rosary on the playground. Everyone was in tears.
I watched the tv live and saw the procession of his mom and both kids walk behind the casket along with Bobby Kennedy. When JFK,Jr saluted his dad at the gravesite it was heartbreaking.
I literally watched him grow up. I lived in NY state when it was mentioned he was considering a run for Senator. I couldn’t wait to vote for him.
I was in 7th grade so we are peers more or less...although I have seniority...haha...
