Baby food bombshell as 40% of products contain pesticides which harm newborns
Nearly half of the baby food we give children contains toxic pesticides which can harm their development, a study shows. This is “concerning” for babies who are “particularly vulnerable”, says the author
My mother told me to make baby food for my children and I did.
I would cook and mash carrots, potatoes and they ate ricotta, etc.
This was in the 70's.
My mother was way ahead of her time.
Yes.
Amen, thankfully you were given this wisdom to pass on.
Yes I did but my daughter thinks I am nuts.
She bought organic baby food.
SMH.
After all that has been exposed with lies. Is it really organic ?
No but you can't tell her.
Reminds me of the old saying. Listen or your tongue will keep you deaf.
I never heard that.
Thanks.
No thanks needed. People deserve the truth. What they decide then is on them.
Maybe this is why babies spit that shit out. Beside the fact that it's mushy and gross. My kids all bought baby bullets to blend their own baby foods...it's not hard to do, honestly
Amen, and you control and know what they are eating.
I praise myself lucky that my mom fed me at first breast milk, and then home made baby food...
Amen and I have seen studies that showed even dogs that ate table scraps were healthier and lived longer lives.
Well most kibble, even the most expensive, is garbage. I’ve begun my dog on a raw food diet and he’s made a huge transformation. I would say it depends on what your table scraps consist of. If your meal comes from boxes and cans, probably not. If you cook real food and farm-sourced meat, no doubt as long as you steer clear of foods toxic to dogs.
Exactly, avoid meats with antibiotics and hormone injections. grass fed and not grain fed.
That really depends on the breed, bigger dogs that are more adjusted to living outside should get a diet heavier on raw meats, smaller interior dogs shoukd pretty much get the same foods you eat for dinner.
I would say that depends on what’s on the table for dinner. Again, if you’re eating a bunch of processed food, not only is it harmful to your dog, it’s harmful to you and your kids. Sadly, I’m sure alot of households eat this way.
Looking at products from Beech-Nut, Gerber and Parent’s Choice, the study detected acetamiprid, a neonicotinoid insecticide harmful to bees and humans, and captan, often linked to cancer. Five of the products contained fludioxonil, a product which harms foetal development, affects the immune system and disrupts hormones - and is commonly used on fruits, vegetables and cereals.
Apple-based products were those most likely to contain high pesticide residue, with pears, blueberries and strawberries also typically holding high levels of the chemicals. Some of the pesticides are also linked to damage to the nervous and reproductive system.
No shit.
Time to inform those who are coming out of their slumber.
