They say Revenge...I say Retribution...and the Difference is... The goal of retribution is to ensure that the punishment is commensurate to the offence, and in line with the expectations of society, while revenge is a form of retaliation that is emotionally driven and seeks to inflict personal punishment without regard for what is proportionate.
