The 'cognitive dissonance' is strong with these folks, and the last thing in the world they will ever do is admit they were wrong. They will "trans-form" into something else (new me) before admitting they were wrong about everything...
That is part of their mental preservation mechanism. They will deny all accountability and say they were told to do it and blame others when it does come out. If they realize they were the baddies the entire time... I'm not sure what will happen to them.
One of the problems as I see it is that Obama injected politics (a prostituted version of liberalism that is) directly into the educational system (propaganda to our own citizens) , combined with growing up with social media and it's manufactured reality, made our younger generations hyper-focused on identity politics, and for the first time in modern society, "going against the system" as it seems to be a normal inter-generational trait, became "believe your teachers, the media and the corporations"
