Two teenagers die a mile apart
A murder investigation has been launched after two teenagers were stabbed to death a mile apart in South East London yesterday afternoon. The 16-year-old boys were attacked in Abbey Wood and Thamesmead, according to police.
Officers were called to Sewell Road and Titmuss Avenue at around 5.10pm. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Police are investigating whether there is a link between the two deaths. Crime scenes remain in place and no arrests have been made.
Man stabbed in the head in Bethnal Green
The stabbing happened on Colbert Avenue
A man was knifed in the head in Bethnal Green last night. The 40-year-old was rushed to hospital after he was stabbed at around 8.30pm on Colbert Avenue.
Teenager 'raped' in Islington park
Police were called to reports of a rape in a North London park in the early hours of yesterday morning. Officers rushed to Highbury Fields at 3.57am after a teenage girl was reportedly raped.
Officers are supporting the alleged victim. A male known to her has been arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in police custody. A crime scene is in place as the investigation continues.
Brixton shooting
A man was shot in south London in the early hours of this morning. Police were called to Stockwell Road in Brixton at 3.20am to reports of a shooting.
The victim was taken to hospital where he is currently receiving treatment, though his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. There is a black Mercedes with a broken window within the crime scene and police officers are investigating the incident.
