I think soul sleep is a 7'th day Adventist doctrine. I believe that doctrine is considered false by mainstream Christianity, pushing 7'th day adventism into a cultish outlier.
7th Day? That's news to me. I take this directly from the Bible. When a person dies, their soul is suspended, awaiting the day of Resurrection.
1 Thessalonians 4:13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.

Stray502 is correct. Kissenger, like my mom who died 12 years ago, their souls sleep until the return of Christ Jesus. That's how it works.
