My husband just found a 1969 MAD magazine at a yard sale. On the back cover there is an advertisement that says, “AMERICA’S GOING DRAG!” with a picture of four guys dressed as women. The caption under the photo says, “There’s a strange take-over happening in America-and it’s even spreading into Madison Ave. And it’s a very strange take-over. In fact, it’s queer!” That’s at least how long they’ve been brainwashing us.
Drag is and always was adult entertainment for adults, with the exceptional foray such as Divine in the original Hairspray (1988). 'Drag Queen Story' is PEDOPHILIA GROOMING, plain and simple.
I get the adult entertainment. It’s on the back cover, though. I’ve always thought it was best to keep bedroom stuff IN the bedroom. I would imagine this would be disconcerting to a kid or young adult, especially at that time. They could’ve put that on the inside back cover.
