Here in Engerlandland (as I am sure it is called by your President) we have a state-funded education system. These are where ordinary pleb children go to school. It does not really have a name and people just refer to it as the state education system.
"Public Schools" on the other hand are privately-run and very expensive institutions for (obviously) non-plebs. If you want to be in any mid-to-high level political position it is essential to have a "public school education." Nearly all of our recent prime ministers went to public school.

Indeed. Public Schools here are really just a different name for Government or State-funded. All "public" schools in the US are state funded. Our Private Schools would be your "Public Schools" .
