I agree there were lots of end-of--the-world prepper-trigger concepts to relate to. LOL
The ending was rather weak IMO. Write-your-own, we got tired.
Spoilers: The kid who is addicted to the 'Friends' series, finds out that the whole series is stored on a DVD-collection in a posh house, and breaks in, to eat a bunch of snacks, and catch the final episode. So the 'solution' to the precarious survival situation is found by a gorm-less, animals-are-sending-us-a-message, TV series-consuming teeny-bopper, trying to fix her got-to-see-the-ending anxiety. There happens to be a fully stocked survival basement in that house, so one assumes those two families will be allright - but as I said: that is the ending as in, write-your-own. It is a kind of deus ex-machina.
Also, re: woke-alert the blick-people hatred and anti-neighborly attitude of the red-neck prepper was not realistic IMO, and it kind of gagged me, as in: this is not comms, but propaganda against awakened individuals who stock the necessary.
