The conservative instinct seems to lean towards preserving the status quo. When I look around at the world today, I really don't see much that's even worth preserving. It's a sad thing to admit after all that our ancestors had to go through to get to this point, but it seems like the modern world we've created ended up being a huge mistake. It's like we've thrown away the essential parts of life in exchange for lots of inessentials.
Families don't work anymore. The whole social structure is uprooted and turned against itself. We're obsessed with competition and selfishness. It's not normal or good imo. At least the collapse offers an opportunity to correct these mistakes
I think if you consider the fact that those "pulling the strings" are intentionally targeting the things that are usually considered dear by most, you might be able to see through the ugliness to what existed before. This is intentional on their part.
I maintain a massive file full of articles and quotes to explicitly identify who is doing this, why, and how. I know of what I speak, and they are not afraid to conceal what they are doing.
A bit of friendly advice, fren. What you are describing can lead to a dark path for yourself. This is something we all need to practice, to keep our spirits high, but there is a lot of good still in this world. Don't let them win!
Rare insight here. You spotted the logical mistake and the demoralisation attack that made it an easy mistake to make, and a fair warning. It is a dark path, I have walked it, still do, so these are helpful words even to this passer-by.
