I once took a nonfiction writing class at a liberal college. Eventually, as the term went on, people felt free to write more personal things. About half the class eventually admitted to having been abused in some way sexual, physical, etc., mostly by a family member. It was a real eye opener.
Wow, no doubt. I keep a short list of stats about things like that. How many kids in 100 are being abused, how many domestic violence cases likely in a 100, that sort of thing. It helps when engaging with people to realize that horrible person in a group is likely someone dealing with horrible things themselves❤

a therapist told me yrs ago that 1 in 3 women r victims of INCEST! :(((
