Fun Fact:
When I was in eighth grade, there were these two brothers that we used to hang out with - Craig and Richard from Huntington Beach.
One of their family members was a bus driver for Van Halen. Right before the first album came out, they played at the Whisky A Gogo - on New Year’s Eve. Richard’s mom chaperoned us, and we went to the whiskey, a gogo for New Year’s Eve to see Van Halen.
I actually sat on the stage in front of one of those amplifiers, and we rocked out. It was my friend, Shannon and I, Richard and Craig . I took a bunch of pictures, and I still have pictures from that event.
I just checked with my mom, and she said I was about 14 at the time, I’ll be 60 this month. Anyway, after the show we got to hang out with all of them, and even had a few drinks? Like where are my parents?
Anyway, it was a concert of a lifetime, and I will remember it for the rest of my life! Thanks for this post and the fond memory.!
