Yep - I'm the same way and seems the older I get, the stronger my IDGAF gets also. Don't like me? Don't talk to me. You don't need to look at me either.
After the 2016 Miracle, someone who I thought was my fren went off the deep end upon learning I had the temerity to vote for the obvious alternative to "Corrupt Corporate Granny."
Old enough to remember a time in this country where you could have political disagreements with your friends, but still be able to discuss them intelligently and without them losing their shit.
Those times are long gone.
Know what u/Shalimar?
I too am at that stage where my IRDGAF is pushing well past the speed limit.
Back to Kentucky, how is it that the same state that can produce Rand Paul, still has Mitch "The TURD-L" McConnell as the ranking Republican in the U.S. Senate?
I agree about all the toxicity surrounding politics now. Like religion, I don't recall growing up with political bent being a topic of conversation - it was a small part of another person's overall "self" but was by no means important enough to kill a friendship. Smh - whole world has gone slap ass crazy
At the end of the day - fuck em all. I see - or try to anyway - the good in others and have no issues accepting differences. Hell, that makes life interesting!!! As long as your differences don't include illegal things like drug running or murder, etc, I enjoy differences - opens everyone up to new experiences. But yes, IDGAF anymore if someone likes me or not. My sense of self worth is no longer dependent (in any way) on someone else's opinion of me. So, seems you are an AWESOME person too!!!
I can answer this. Though I'm sure fraud has some factor in the end result, it starts with the banging of the war drums and pressuring people to vote for RINOs who you know will stab you in the back.
After all, "we need these really close races to go in our favor, we have to play it safe, the country and the balance are always at the tipping point, WE NEED THE MAJORITY, we will figure it out with the knife in our back!"
Very frustrating. People would rather vote for someone they know is the enemy and win a hollow victory than be willing to vote for someone new and lose.
Two party system is a trap, especially when those two parties are a unified party.
