Funny how they never dox the owners of such accounts. No investigation at all?
To be fair, I am not sure if there is enough information threads out there to track down these sickos without inside help at Etsy.
Catturd got doxxed because he posted too much personal info over social media. Even him posting info about his doggie dogs give away a lot of information that could identify him. To be frank, Catturd was on borrowed time the moment he gushes about his pets and living on the Catturd Ranch.
I was referring to why doesn't Etsy expose these perps. If they have an account then they know who it is... right?
To double check my facts, I've "opened" up a shop at Etsy to see what goes into opening a shop.
A lot of bits of information can be faked, but Etsy does require bank info/other hard-to-fake financial info to deposit money and process taxes and other financial tasks, so that might be a more reliable source of real identity information, which they will send over to the authorities for legal tasks.
Of course, even there, I bet that there are ways of getting around that...
